Grids and Range recap for Graphic Notebooks

Range planning. I had to quickly draw out the range and have a look at what we needed to make to get a visualisation before ordering the stock and making all the grids.

Grids:

The triangle grid is ideal for 3-dimensional drawings, either being structural drawings, type drawings, generally anything which isn't flat and needed a grid.

Detailed type grid 2, This type grid has a large set of sqaures running through it and a stippled like sqaure to give variation. It also has notes collumns at the side and bottom. with a number / date key at the top. I feel that this might be a bit over the top but good to get it ideas out the way.

Detailed grid 1, this is less detailed the grid 2, but still retains the columns on the right and bottom for notes. I like this feature but i feel that it could be a bit repetitive and not necessary when you have a double page spread of theses. kind of leaves less room for actual design and more for reflection...

A simple plain sqaure grid with a subtle number system and date at the top could well be better. Less is more in the sketchpad world after all.

The X-height grid, this is geared purely for typographic drawing. It is based on setting lines of type, there are margins for descenders and ascenders. The only issue I have is that the descender margin for one line touches the ascender line for the next. this isnt a massive issue as you might not be drawing characters which will overlap and if i made a extra gutter it would allow me to have only a few lines per page. not ideal.
