Design Context - The Archive

Here are some mock ups just to test format sizes of the Archive before starting to design it. Each one of the three chapters will be split up into a small book to be bound together. but I have to get all my margins and formats sorted before designing. I know that I will be printing single pages and only the largest section might be a A3 cut down but everything else can be printed on A4 which makes it much easier for me.

Dimensions:

Chapter 1: 227x165

Chapter 2: 262x188

Chapter 3: 297x210

Margins:

Inside: 25mm
top, bottom , outside: 8mm

Columns:

10 rows

(All 3 sections fit into the column system)

Final mail out. I used rubbed bands to bind it with grey board covers. Screen printed gold on black. really hope i get a reply cause this was alot of effort to make each of them...

The Archive mail out development

I decided to change the format of the poster into a small mail out I could fit into a letter. I made a mail out with a range of questions to send out.

The Archive Poster idea which i decided to scratch as it was too conventional and just not different enough to get a repsons

I started to plan a poster or mail out to send a few studio's in order to get a reply for my design context book. these are initail designs for a poster. I didnt like any of them...
